For those who don’t know, I grew up in the Daintree Rainforest, my parents are still living there.  This is the foot of Thorton's Peak.
 
I always thought I would naturally paint the rainforest as it is sensational and a thing of beauty. But creatively I had a block, I couldn’t see past the green, the endless dense greenery. I guess the rainforest comes with some hard elements like mould, insects, humidity, snakes, bird eating spiders, dampness, cassowaries.
 
It was remote living with no mains power and a creek for water supply. We had to monitor our power consumption constantly not to let the bank of batteries drain to much as power came in from the hydro-power, solar panels and generator. We knew the wattage of every appliance. Hair dryers, irons and vacuums were occasional use only.
 
Anyway I am back to exploring the jungle vibes brewing in my mind and playing with creating the glorious side of the rainforest that I know and love also
